Candy & Salvador (aka Sal) got married at the beautiful Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Downtown Sacramento. Walking through the doors on their wedding day, I was filled with a sense of anticipation. The enormity of the space mirrored the enormity of the commitment that they were about to promise to each other and to God. Romantic, right?

Following the ceremony we photographed their formals across the street on the grounds of the Capital - always a favorite of mine. We then walked a few blocks the Library Galleria. We were greeted by the sounds of a marachi band and warm laughter of their family and friends. Candy & Sal were showered with love during the many speeches made by their family, including an especially stirring speech by the groom’s brother that had nearly everyone in tears.

Thank you again Candy & Sal for including me in your special day. What a privilege!

Also, a special thanks to my friend and fellow photographer Bree for 2nd shooting this gorgeous wedding with me!

When Charleton Churchill asked me to 2nd shoot  a wedding with him I jumped at the opportunity. Watching him work was extremely inspiring – his energy, his creativity and his skill are aparent in every photo he shoots. Make sure to check out his site to view his awesome work! Thanks again, Charleton, I had a great time!

Candace and Mitch got married at a gorgeous ranch in Valley Springs, CA. Their day consisted of mimosas while getting ready, photos on a tractor, jumping in the back of trucks en route to photo locations, warm breezes while reciting their vows, the smell of freshly grilled California cuisine and a candlelit reception. My heart sang when the DJ played my favorite song of all time – Love of My Life by Santana featuring Dave Matthews. What a beautiful, perfect day for this gorgeous couple!

Lynn and Lonnell got married on a beautiful spring day at their church in Stockton. Following the ceremony, we went to Victory Park for formals and then it was off to party the night away at the reception! Approximately 200 guests made the whole event fun and full of life. The day was filled with too many special moments to list, so I will let the photos tell the story. Thank you for allowing me to photograph your beautiful wedding day Lynn & Lonnell!

Thank you to my friend and fellow photographer, Kris Lane, for 2nd shooting and providing several of the below images!

I am going to be photographing their wedding on June 12th at Arden Hills County Club, but in the mean time, it was time for engagement photos! Both Gabi and Emanuel are fellow Mira Loma High School grads - Emanuel graduated the year before I did and I had no idea that I knew him until we met at the wedding consultation. Gabi works with my friend Logan, which is how they found me. Small world, huh? Love that!

It was a mild Sunday evening when we did their engagement photos in Old Sacramento. Clouds were just starting to move in, giving us beautiful, diffused light (photographers love that!) It was busy- people everywhere. We basically hit every niche – the river, the train tracks, old buildings, allyways, the murals under the tunnel, and even the dumpster area of The Firehouse! They were both SO NATURAL in front of the camera. At one point I was at a loss for words and just told Gabi, “….be FIERCE!’ and by golly, did she give me fierce!

Without further ado (and yes, I had to Google how to spell that)….

This is the exact bench where Emanuel gave Gabi her promise ring. That day, they carved their initials into the bench. They were still there! (M is for his nickname!)
