I love photographing maternity sessions. I tend to treat them as normal portrait sessions, the only difference being the occasional hand placement on the baby bump. I truly enjoy photographing women (and their husband’s!) during this special time in their lives. Me? I loved being pregnant. LOVED IT. I hope to show my maternity clients just how beautiful they really are, in case they don’t already realize that.

About this session: We did the studio style shots in their garage with natual light, which I always love to use when it’s available. Then, we went into their GORGEOUS western style nursery for a few more indoor shots. Lastly, we found a gorgeous patch of desert and rocked some outdoor photos with the beautiful sunshine and surroundings. Being for Northern California, I had never done a session in the desert. I LOVED it!

Britne…you’re stunning! I know that you guys will make wonderful parents and thank you for being so kind in person and so gorgeous in front of my camera :)

Yet another day in paradise, otherwise known as a warm, sunny afternoon in San Francisco!

This great family is due to welcome their 2nd baby boy any time now. When they mentioned that they wanted photos done, I couldn’t help but jump at the opportunity since I was already planning on making it up north to Sacramento to visit my family for 5 days. I had the privilege of doing their son’s 1st birthday photos last October, so things really came full circle!

Now that they have photographs crossed off the list, next up is choosing the little guy’s name ;)

Also, please make note of the awesome abstract photo courtesy of the sweet 2 year old boy that you see here! 2 year olds have quite the obsession with pressing buttons so I love holding my camera and letting them snap away. They look so satisfied with themselves when they hear that great shutter sound that DSLR’s offer. I was so impressed with his work that I just had to include it on the blog! Future photographer, perhaps??
