I've spent a lot of time in Carmel, CA. The town has a certain air of romance to it - the fog, the smell of wood burning fireplaces, homes that are the vision of children's fairy tales, cobblestone paths, twisting cypress trees, and the beautiful blue Pacific. It's the perfect place for a wedding. Kelley and Alex were married at the world-renowned Mission Inn. The day started off like your typical day in Carmel...foggy. But, as the day progressed the fog gave way to a perfect, sunny October day. Kelley and Alex have been together for several years - Kelley owns a frozen yogurt shop and Alex played professional baseball. They are opposite in many ways - Kelley is bubbly and outgoing while Alex is reserved and stoic. They bring out the best in each other as any good couple should. Kelley and Alex chose to do a first look and to have their goofy yellow lab, Gus, be a part of their day. There were many laughs and a heck of a lot of romance. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful day.
Kira & Jordan's Clement Hotel Wedding | Monterey Wedding Photographer
Where do I start? I love Kira and Jordan. I've known Kira for many years since we were both wee 4th graders. Since then, Kira has grown into a beautiful, vibrant women and I am so, so honored that she chose me as her wedding photographer. Jordan, did you have a say? haha. And Jordan...you probably don't know this, but I think I had a crush on you when I was 10 or 11. Jordan's parents owned a business across the street from the pharmacy where my mom worked for many years. Jordan and his brother would come in with their mom from time to time and my mom would come back to the break room where I hung out after school and announce, "The Rasmussen boys are here" in case I wanted to...I don't know...go and flirt? I was 10. haha. That was a fleeting memory and it took me a while to put two and two together that Jordan was THE Jordan that would come into my mom's pharmacy. Kira and Jordan's wedding was on a truly perfect October day in Monterey, CA at the Clement Hotel. Monterey is a special place to me. I have spent countless hours at Cannery Row, at the aquarium, Fisherman's Warf, Lovers Point, and the bike trails that snake through the area. My dad and stepmom moved to the area when I was a little girl and I have so many beautiful memories. So, needless to say, it was a great pleasure to photograph Kira and Jordan's wedding there. They decided to do a first look so we had time to wander around the area and do photos. Not only are they a beautiful couple but they are fun and genuine...the best kind of subjects.
There is a lot more that I could say but I'll stop here and let the photos tell their story. Congratulations you two!
The guys had some interesting music happening in their room...
