Isla & Giselle | Baptism Photography

Earlier this year I did these newborn photos for identical twins, Isla and Giselle. When their mom called me to photograph their baptism, I was both honored and excited. The girls had grown so much and were full of smiles, even as their bottoms were dunked in the water! The service was exceptionally beautiful and then followed by a fun reception at grandma's house just down the street. My goal was to capture the day just as it was, very candid and with natural processing. Days like this one make me bust at the seams with love for what I do.

Sweet Newborn Baby Boy!

This little man was just 5 days old  in these photos. He was a little over 6lbs and the perfect, sleepy little peanut! His older brother was amazing with him and you could literally feel their bond, even after just 5 days of knowing eachother. A special thank you to my friend Kris Lane for coming out with me to capture the last 2 images! She helped me with new poses and let me use her studio lighting set-up! Whoot! I am so grateful to have generous photographer friends who are willing to share their knowledge and help me grow... :)

Behind the Scenes: Photography Meet-Up | Folsom

On Friday I got together with a few photographer friends of mine - Kris Lane, Brandy Hawkins and Bree Franklin I shot my very first "client" session at Negro Bar in Folsom a long time ago. I've learned a lot since then and was anxious to go back with 3 other talented ladies to chat about photography and get some shots in. Kris brought her son and Bree brought her daughter. Both were willing models, although one was more on the move than the other. I bet you can guess who it was ;)

Photography is an interesting business. There are a few bad seeds out there (as with all industries), but for the most part it's a community filled with wonderful, caring, and artistic people who love to share their craft, help eachother out and encourage their fellow photographer along the way. I feel so lucky to know so many of the "good seeds"! The 4 of us plus another friend, Charletton Churchill, will be attending the PPA Tour in Sacramento this Tuesday at the Hyatt Regency. Exciting stuff!
